How to find best-selling products on Etsy: the short method
Treat "best-selling" as a pattern, not a single listing. A product is worth your time when many listings in a niche sell steadily, shoppers search for it by name and the profit after Etsy's fees is worth the work. The steps below use free plans and Etsy's own pages, read on November 4, 2026. Search suggestions for this question include variants for best-selling digital products, so the method covers digital downloads, print on demand and handmade goods.
Step 1 to 3: choose, search and check the estimates
- Step 1, pick a niche you can serve. Write two or three product types you could make or source, such as a printable planner, a custom mug or a hand-poured candle.
- Step 2, search Etsy the way a shopper would. Note which listings repeat, how many shops offer similar items and how listings are priced and photographed.
- Step 3, add a research tool. EverBee's free Hobby plan shows views, reviews and favorites, and its paid plans add sales, revenue and conversion rate. eRank's free plan allows 5 keyword lookups a day, and Alura's free plan allows 5 daily keyword and product searches.
Read the estimates with care
Another shop's sales and revenue are estimates. The EverBee terms say its information and reports may include inaccuracies, and eRank describes its competitor figure as an estimated daily number of sales. Check a niche by looking at many listings, not one. Look at whether the numbers rise or fall over time, which EverBee describes as trends and growth rate, and whether new listings appear to be selling or only older ones.
Step 4 to 6: compare, count profit and test
- Step 4, compare two tools on the same query. If EverBee and eRank or Alura point to the same niche, the pattern is stronger. If they disagree, look at why before choosing. EverBee vs eRank shows how to run that trial.
- Step 5, work out profit per sale. Take the sale price and subtract Etsy's fees, materials or print costs and shipping. Etsy's fee page describes a charge for creating or renewing a listing, and listings expire after four months. For digital items, Etsy's help page says an instant download can carry up to five files and cannot have variations.
- Step 6, test small. List a handful of products, give each a few weeks and keep the ones that sell. Do not make a large batch of stock from an estimate.
A worked way to read one result
Suppose a research tool shows a listing in your niche with an estimated monthly revenue figure and a rising growth rate. Do not copy it. Ask how many other listings sell the same thing, whether the keyword appears in the titles of the busiest ones and whether your own version can differ in a way a shopper would notice. Then check your profit per sale. A strong estimate for a product that leaves you almost nothing after fees is a poor lead.
When a paid plan helps
If you do these steps weekly and a free limit blocks you, a paid plan may be worth a month. Test it with the break-even arithmetic in the EverBee pricing guide: divide the plan's monthly cost by your profit per sale to see how many extra sales it must help you make. If you are still choosing, the best Etsy seller tools guide sorts tools by job, and what is EverBee explains one of them.
