What the free Hobby plan leaves out

Hobby shows views, reviews and favorites for listings. Sales, revenue and conversion rate are Growth and Business columns, and EverBee's help center says the premium tools in Product Analytics are only available on those two plans. Those columns are estimates for any listing you do not own.

EverBee's pricing page gives Hobby 10 keywords, and its help center describes unlimited analytics searches, so the keyword limit and the product-search limit are separate.

No free trial, and what the refund clauses say

The free Hobby plan is the only no-cost way in, because EverBee runs no trial. Its Terms of Service, section 4, give two refund clauses instead. On monthly plans, EverBee refunds the amount of your last payment if you contact it within three days of purchasing.

On annual plans, the terms give a pro-rated refund up to a maximum of eight months' worth. These are refund clauses, not a guarantee. Growth is $299 a year when billed annually; the card shows that as $24.99 a month.

When Hobby is enough and when Growth pays

Take a handmade candle maker who adds a few listings a month. Hobby's 10 keywords can check a handful of ideas, Etsy's Marketplace Insights allows 15 keyword searches a week for free, and Etsy Stats covers her own shop, so she can start with free tools only.

Growth at $39 a month on monthly billing suits a seller who researches products every week and wants sales estimates. The EverBee pricing guide shows the break-even method, and the EverBee review covers the data limits.

Other routes: eRank Free lists 5 keyword lookups a day, and Sale Samurai lists a 3-day free trial on its paid cards. See the best free Etsy research tool page to compare them.
